I don't need to get into the details of what happens when you charge lithium batteries in series, there are plenty of other websites and blogs covering this matter, but basically, it is better to charge in parallel so that all the cells are charged evenly. But since I need 24v, I would need a series configuration, and I didn't want to remove the batteries every time it was time to charge, so here is the solution! Using a 3 pole rotery cam switch, I was able to figue out a wiring scheme that would allow you to switch between two modes, Run and Charge. Which in turn, changes the battery wiring configuration from series to parallel. |
